Love this movie! Has anyone else seen it? Or even heard of it? It's called 'The Secret of Kells,' or 'Brendan and the Secret of Kells'. It was nominated for an Academy Award, which is like the only way I heard about it. But I bought it, and watched it like five times, before I'd had it a whole month!

It's a film by an Irish Animation Company, Cartoon Saloon. It's the most beautiful artistic animation I've seen since 'Bambi'. It's based on the art work of Medieval illuminated manuscripts. So everything looks kind of like a stained glass window. It's based on a real life book, the Book of Kells, which is like the oldest piece of Irish literature or something like that. The story is about this boy, Brendan, who lives in a place called Kells. He meets this master illuminator (someone who did illustrated manuscripts way back when), and he goes on all these adventures with his friend, Aisling, in order to find all the materials to complete the book. The story really is about Bredan conquring his fears, and learning to trust his imagination. And there's all these sub-plots I won't get into.

I love the cat, Pangur Ban, he's so cute! He has two different colored eyes! Anyway, I think it's a movie all you 'Avalon' fans will enjoy. There's wolves, and Aisling, whose a fairy, and awesome. Everything's just beautiful espescially the forest scene. And the music's by my favorite composer, maybe that's why I'm partial to it.

Anyway, rent it, and check it out. 'Cause it's really cool. It's not like 'AMAZING', but it's worth the time. The begining's kind of slow, but just watch it through. (No ferrets unfortunatly, but Pangur Ban kind of looks like a ferret)
